Fest preferences
The fest-mods asked participants to post a list of likes/dislikes/things that induce a stroke when reading etc. to our journals to make it easier for our gifters. It's a good idea!

Here's mine. It'll probably be ridiculously long, but better safe and wordy than sorry and unintentionally misleading a gifter. The "if it's not explicitly mentioned we will think it's fine with you" sounded really ominous.

So, let's go:

Pairings: Severus/Harry, Severus/Lucius, Severus/Draco, Severus/Percy, Severus/Neville, Severus/Hermione, Severus/Narcissa
- basically I like nearly all pairings involving Snape that an author can somewhat rationally explain within their fic's premise and the canon-info given. My favorite characters after Snape regardless of pairings are Neville and Luna and I have a soft spot for Percy since he's often treated as shit by his brothers and fandom. Het is alright too! I have no problems with characters being bisexual (even if not actively during story) and find it more likely than everyone is gay worlds.
Which leads me to pairing-squicks: Snape pining after James, Sirius, Remus, Peter - since his "happy" schooldays perhaps even - or so desperate he'd rather be buggered by his near-murderer than by a random stranger aren't among my likes. Unless he goes after them for therapeutic revenge, wish-fulfillment involving humiliating his ex-tormentors, to have the upper hand... I'd believe those!
Snape/Dumbledore because 110 years age-difference, magical!geronto!stud!Albus and the inherent abusiveness/involuntary power-imbalance of this constellation aren't sexy imo, Snape/Voldemort, Snape/Ginny, Snape/St. Lily, Snape/Weasley-twins.
The Founders bore me to death personally and I'd likely notice historical inconsistencies compulsively ^_^.


Likes: practical!unapologetic!Snape, impulsive!but maturing!Harry, hedonistic!high maintenance!challenging sub!Lucius, quietly!confident!Neville, plotty scenarios, sarcasm, realism, snarky dialogue, Snape POVs, unusual careers post-Hogwarts or post-war, Snape not staying at Hogwarts post-war (and if there's prejudice in Britain against him emigrating instead of helplessly suffering along, especially if it's somewhere not the US), Severus inheriting something (no creature-trait) from the Prince-side, realistic chances for childhood-relationships/crushes lasting as opposed to JKR's 1st love = twu wuv foreva formula.

I adore a verbally talented, snarky, clever, dominant, manipulative Snape. My Harry I like enthusiastic, sexy without being super!beautiful, confident, still hotheaded but tempered by experience when an adult, only submissive in the pairing if there's BDSM. Slow build-up, plot and plausible characterization pre-DH would be nice.


dislikes: bottom!Snape, victim!Snape, emo!Snape, virgin!Snape, in Snarry: Severus having crushed like mad on Lily or James (let him be with H for Harry, not as a substitute),
super!powered!Harry, suddenly!gorgeous!Harry, studious!intellectual!Harry, Lord Potter - the name alone makes me laugh because there's nothing less aristocratic than the name after profession "potter",
alpha!Remus (Yeah, the feral werewolf who could be dominated and kept away from human prey his basic instincts demanded by teenaged Animagi: domesticated relatives, hoofed grazing animals and rodents... I just feel the packleader-vibes. Not.), magical!genius!Hermione (research-wonder!Hermione is fine), slow! or cowardly!Neville, brainless!crazy!Luna, flawless!Lily (even if JKR wants us to believe so. Remember she smiled when she saw her supposed best friend outnumbered, bound and choking on the ground - and she did it PRE-Mudblood-comment! I wonder how she treated her enemies...), saint!Dumbledore,
creature!anyone exhibiting instant mad skillz just because, knowledge out of the blue "suddenly he just knew how to- whatever", feminized guys who are male only in name/body and girly in everything else, wimpy subs, weepy!men, HP-characters as Americans speech- and behaviourwise, religion (as perverted role-play fine ^_^ but please no religious!Snape or other main character), main characters coming back Inferiused/in Dementor-victims bodies or something disgusting along those lines


Kinks: top!Snape, dom!Snape, consensual mutually enjoyed BDSM, D/s (!), boots, serving, kneeling, fellatio, verbal domination, crops, collars, magic cleverly used in kinky activities (bondage, animal-play, role-play etc.), headgames more than pain, tenderness without sappiness
Sexually kinkwise I generally prefer no BDSM to badly written BDSM if someone has no experience/interest there! Otherwise anything not a squick is fair game ^_^


Squicks: non-con, mpreg, cross-dressing, scat, vomit, bestiality, self-harm (cutting, anorexia, substance abuse...), extreme pain or violence, extreme age-play, excessive verbal degradation a la slut, bitch, whore etc. constantly used, necrophilia, chan (British ages of consent or maturity are OK), death fic, song fic, fluff, crack, rentboy! or prostitute!fic, saccharine endings, instant soul mates, unrelenting angst (wangst), major OOC-ness, purple prose, deus ex machina-solutions, DH - yes, that's a squick!
Slavery - especially "it's really not so bad in the end!"-glamorized versions. Seriously, that one has me frothing at the mouth: spare me please!


Threesomes are fine if purely sexual arrangements or occasional play-scenes. But if it's a relationship with 3 people coming together or 2 established plus a new partner I'd prefer it depicting the unavoidable pitfalls of polyamoury somewhat: i.e. jealousy, insecurity, someone feeling left out in some way (intellectually, emotionally, not necessarily sexually), 2 think it's fine to fool around among themselves while #3 thought everything sexual only as 3some, 2 people only being in the 3some to be with the 3rd one...
I don't believe in sunshine, roses, rainbows and eternal happy sex magically happening in such a constellation so I'd like to see a hint of realism here - or no threesome-relationship at all ^_^


Rating: I'd prefer R or NC-17 for non-gen fics, though plot trumps pure smut always ^_^

Scenario: Optional of course but here are the ones I put forth for some fests:
- I’d love a scenario were Severus and Harry (whoever) come together some years postwar, both doing relatively well (no one living in abject poverty, suffering, hampered in their freedom) but looking for a “special” kinky relationship and finding it unexpectedly with each other.
It would be especially interesting if the war-end hadn't resolved all their issues with each other and made them BFFs: so they'd perhaps have sexual attraction and compatibility but must deal with personal differences.

- Or an AU war-end: LV had a plan at least as cunning and rational *cough* as the GoF-scheme to erase Harry's existence - via a topically used potion that would de-age him 20 years (more than his actual age). Of course it backfires when Snape steps in between, saving Harry and ending up 20 years younger in body though still retaining his skills, knowledge and adult mind. It turns out irreversible: he's 18 and will age from there again normally.
Now war's over, everyone goes back to Hogwarts because finishing one's education is important dammit and Severus (With a different identity? As a fictional relative? With slightly changed appearance? As himself?) needs to start anew: beginning with retaking his NEWTs, having to spend a year among lots of annoying teenagers. Well, perhaps there are perks... Might this be a chance for happier times as a student than the first time around?
